William Alexander "Bud" Abbott (2 Oktober 1895 – 24 April) adalah seorang pemain film, pelawak, dan produser asal Amerika Serikat.[2] Ia paling dikenal sebagai anggota pasangan tim komedi Abbott and Costello, bersama Lou Costello.
Personal life
Bud dan Betty Abbott menikah selama 55 years. Pasangan ini mengadopsi dua anak: Bud Jr. pada tahun 1942 dan Vickie pada tahun 1949. Bud Jr. meninggal pada tangal 19 Januari 1997 pada usia 57 tahun.
Kematian
Abbott menderita epilepsi dalam hidupnya.[butuh rujukan] Pada awal tahun 1960-an, ia mulai mengalami stroke yang kemudian terjadi berulang. Pada tahun 1972, ia mengalami patah kaki. Abbott meninggal karena kanker pada usia 78 tahun, tanggal 24 April 1974, di rumahnya, di Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.[3] His wife Betty died on September 12, 1981 at the age of 79.
