Presiden Amerika Serikat Joe Biden dan Ibu Negara Jill Biden membawa anjing gembala Jerman Champ peliharaan mereka (Oktober 2008 – 19 Juni 2021) dan Major (lahir Januari 2018) ke Gedung Putih pada tahun 2021.[5][6] Champ adalah anjing yang lebih tua yang lahir pada tahun 2008, ia dibawa bersama keluarga Joe Biden ke Washington, DC, saat mereka menduduki Lingkaran Observatorium Nomor Satu, kediaman wakil presiden, dari Januari 2009 hingga Januari 2017. Setelah bergabung dengan keluarga Biden di Gedung Putih, Champ meninggal pada Juni 2021. Masa jabatan Champ sebagai anjing pertama di Gedung Putih adalah yang terpendek dalam catatan. Major, yang lahir pada tahun 2018, adalah anjing penampungan pertama yang pernah tinggal di Gedung Putih.[7][8]
