Sejarah Aljazair
Sejarah Aljazair menggambarkan sebuah sejarah yang berlangsung di dataran pantai subur Afrika Utara, yang sering disebut Arab Maghrib (atau Maghrib). Afrika Utara berfungsi sebagai wilayah transit bagi orang-orang yang bergerak menuju Eropa atau Timur Tengah, sehingga penduduk wilayah tersebut telah dipengaruhi oleh populasi dari daerah lain, termasuk Kartago, Romawi, dan Vandal. Wilayah itu ditaklukkan oleh Muslim pada awal abad ke-8 M, tetapi terputus dari Kekhalifahan Umayyah setelah Pemberontakan Berber pada 740. Selama masa Utsmaniyah, Aljazair menjadi kota penting di laut Mediterania yang menimbulkan banyak konflik angkatan laut. Peristiwa penting terakhir dalam sejarah negara baru-baru ini adalah Perang Kemerdekaan Aljazair dan Perang Saudara Aljazair.
