Sebuah negara (country) atau wilayah merupakan suatu area geografis, dalam arti "bangsa" (nation), suatu entitas budaya, ataupun "negara" (state), suatu entitas politik.^[1]

Apabila istilah negara digunakan sebagai sinonim untuk suatu negara berdaulat yang merdeka, lihat:
