Hari Star Wars adalah hari peringatan informal yang diperingati setiap tahun pada tanggal 4 Mei untuk merayakan waralaba media Star Wars George Lucas. Peringatan hari ini menyebar dengan cepat melalui media dan perayaan akar rumput sejak waralaba dimulai pada tahun 1977.[1][2]

Tanggal berasal dari permainan kata-kata "Semoga Angkatan Bersamamu", varian dari slogan populer Star Wars "May the Force be with you". Meski liburan itu tidak dibuat atau dideklarasikan oleh Lucasfilm, banyak penggemar Star Wars di seluruh dunia memilih untuk merayakannya.[3] Sejak saat itu, Lucasfilm dan perusahaan induknya, Disney, menganggapnya sebagai perayaan tahunan Star Wars.

Referensi tercatat pertama dari frasa yang digunakan adalah pada tanggal 4 Mei 1979, hari Margaret Thatcher mengambil pekerjaan sebagai Perdana Menteri Inggris. Sebuah artikel berita online dari penyiar publik Denmark mengatakan partai politiknya, Konservatif, memasang iklan ucapan selamat di The London Evening News, bertuliskan "Semoga Yang Keempat Bersamamu, Maggie. Selamat."[4]

Dalam episode tahun 1988 dari Count Duckula The Vampire Strikes Back, seorang pahlawan super luar angkasa, Tremendous Terrance bertanya kepada Duckula tanggalnya, dan diberi tahu, May the Fourth. Saat Terrance pergi, dia memberi tahu semua di bawah May the Fourth Be With You.[5]
