Perang Salib Albigensian atau Perang Salib Kataris (1209–1229) adalah suatu kampanye militer selama 20 tahun yang diprakarsai oleh Paus Innosensius III untuk menghapuskan paham Katarisme di Languedoc, di selatan Perancis. Perang Salib ini utamanya dilaksanakan oleh pemimpin monarki Perancis dan dengan segera menggunakannya untuk kepentingan politik, sehingga tidak hanya menyebabkan penurunan jumlah penganut Katarisme secara signifikan tetapi juga penataan kembali County Toulouse, yang membawanya ke dalam lingkungan monarki Perancis, serta memudarkan budaya kedaerahannya yang berbeda dan pengaruh besar dari Comte Barcelona.

Sekte Kataris dari abad pertengahan tersebut, yang menjadi target perang salib ini, berasal dari suatu gerakan reformasi dalam gereja-gereja Bogomil dari Dalmasia dan Bulgaria yang menyerukan untuk kembali pada pesan Kristen akan kesempurnaan, kemiskinan, dan pewartaan. Teologi mereka pada dasarnya adalah dualis.^[1] Mereka menjadi dikenal sebagai kaum Albigens, karena terdapat banyak penganutnya di kota Albi dan daerah sekitarnya pada abad ke-12 dan ke-13.^[2]

Antara tahun 1022–1163 mereka dikutuk oleh delapan konsili gereja setempat, yang mana yang terakhir diselenggarakan di Tours menyatakan bahwa semua kaum Albigens "seharusnya dipenjarakan dan harta benda mereka disita", dan oleh Konsili Lateran III pada tahun 1179.^[3] Berbagai upaya diplomasi Paus Innosensius III untuk menghapuskan paham Katarisme^[4] hanya menghasilkan sedikit kesuksesan. Setelah pembunuhan legatusnya, yaitu Pierre de Castelnau, pada tahun 1208, Paus Innosensius III menyatakan suatu perang salib terhadap kaum Kataris. Ia menawarkan lahan-lahan para bidat Kataris kepada setiap bangsawan Perancis yang bersedia untuk mengangkat senjata. Setelah beberapa keberhasilan awal, para baron Perancis menghadapi suatu pemberontakan di Languedoc yang menyebabkan intervensi pasukan kerajaan Perancis.

Perang Salib Albigensian juga berperan dalam pembentukan dan pelembagaan Ordo Dominikan dan Inkuisisi Abad Pertengahan.
