Scott J. Shapiro adalah Profesor Hukum dan Filsafat di Sekolah Hukum Yale dan Direktur Pusat Hukum dan Filsafat Yale dan Lab Keamanan Siber Yale.

Ia menerima gelar BA dalam bidang Filsafat dari Universitas Columbia, gelar JD dari Sekolah Hukum Yale, dan gelar Ph.D. dalam bidang Filsafat dari Universitas Columbia. Setelah menyelesaikan sekolah hukum, Shapiro menjabat sebagai juru tulis untuk Hakim Pierre Leval di Pengadilan Distrik AS untuk Distrik Selatan New York.[1] Di Yale, ia mengajar Filsafat Hukum, Hukum Tata Negara, dan Hukum Siber.

Dia adalah penulis karya dalam bidang teori hukum, karyanya termasuk "Legality".[2] Ia juga merupakan editor dari "Oxford Handbook of Jurisprudence and Philosophy of Law". Professor Shapiro telah dikutip untuk karyanya tentang teori perencanaan hukum dan untuk perintis filsafat hukum eksperimental.[3] Ia juga menjabat sebagai editor jurnal Legal Theory dan Ensiklopedia Filsafat Stanford.
