English: Ice-calorimeter from Antoine Lavoisier's 1789 Elements of Chemistry.
Русский: Калориметр, рисунок из книги Антуана Лорана Лавуазье «Начальный учебник химии» (1789). Обозначения во всплывающих примечаниях:
  • 1 — внутренняя ёмкость, для исследуемого вещества
  • 2 — средняя ёмкость, сюда помещался лёд, по количеству образовавшейся из него воды судили о количестве теплоты, выделенной исследуемым веществом
  • 3 — внешняя ёмкость, здесь находился лёд, который ограждал среднюю и внутреннюю ёмкости от влияния атмосферного тепла
  • 4 — крышка внутренней ёмкости
  • 5 — крышка всего калориметра
  • 6 — коническая воронка с трубкой, через которую талая вода из средней емкости попадала в накопитель для последующего измерения её количества
  • 7 — трубка для отвода талой воды из внешней ёмкости
  • 8 — решётка, поддерживавшая лёд в средней ёмкости
  • 9 — сито, помещавшееся под решёткой 8
  • 10 — колба с исследуемой жидкостью (например, кислотой), помещавшаяся во внутреннюю ёмкость; через пробку колбы проходит опущенный в жидкость термометр; перед помещением во внутреннюю ёмкость колбу нагревали и по термометру определяли, что температура достигла значения, необходимого для течения реакции в жидкости
  • 11 — элемент, поддерживавший колбу 10
