Saat di bangku Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP), Damayanti pernah menjadi pelajar teladan tingkat SMP se-Kodya Bandung dan Provinsi Jawa Barat pada tahun 1974. Begitu pula setelah tamat dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) pada tahun 1983, Damayanti ditugaskan di sebuah puskesmas daerah terpencil di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Dr. dr. Damayanti R. Sjarif, Sp.A(K), (lahir 30 Januari 1959) adalah pakar penyakit nutrisi dan metabolik anak berkewarganegaraan Indonesia.

Saat ini Damayanti berprofesi sebagai dokter spesialis anak pada Bagian Nutrisi dan Penyakit Metabolik Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Anak FKUI/RSCM Jakarta [1]

Saat di bangku Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP), Damayanti pernah menjadi pelajar teladan tingkat SMP se-Kodya Bandung dan Provinsi Jawa Barat pada tahun 1974. Begitu pula setelah tamat dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) pada tahun 1983, Damayanti ditugaskan di sebuah puskesmas daerah terpencil di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Sejumlah penyakit metabolik pada anak yang ia dalami antara lain obesitas (kegemukan), malagizi, Morquio, phenylketonuria (PKU), asidosis tubulus renalis (RTA), Hyperketonaemia, serta Citrulinemia. Mayoritas dari penyakit-penyakit yang dipelajarinya merupakan penyakit langka.
