Model perilaku biasanya melibatkan konsep-konsep psikologi, ilmu saraf, dan teori ekonomi mikro; karena itu, model perilaku mencakup berbagai konsep, metode, dan bidang.[2][3] Ekonomi perilaku kadang dianggap sebagai alternatif bagi ekonomi neoklasik.
