Ferrari benar-benar dikalahkan pada tahun 1962, sebagian sebagai akibat dari pergolakan internal, sebagian lagi karena tim-tim Inggris telah membuat kemajuan besar. BRM akhirnya tampil bagus dengan Graham Hill menjadi juara setelah pertarungan panjang selama semusim dengan Lotus 25 monocoque revolusioner yang dikemudikan oleh Jim Clark. Dan Gurney memberi Porsche satu-satunya kemenangan Grand Prix mereka di Rouen, dan Cooper memenangkan balapan terakhir mereka hingga 1966. Lola melakukan perampokan sporadis pertama mereka ke dalam balap Grand Prix, dan Jack Brabham muncul sebagai konstruktor, mencetak poin pertamanya di mobilnya sendiri. Formula Satu musim 1962 merupakan musim Kejuaraan Dunia FIA Formula Satu yang ke-13, yang dimulai pada tanggal 20 Mei 1962, dan berakhir pada tanggal 29 Desember setelah sembilan lomba.[1] Di musim ini juga digelar beberapa balapan non-kejuaraan yang melengkapi lomba-lomba resmi. Tampil sebagai juara dunia adalah Graham Hill. Sementara gelar juara dunia konstruktor berhasil diraih oleh tim BRM.
Ringkasan musim
Ferrari benar-benar dikalahkan pada tahun 1962, sebagian sebagai akibat dari pergolakan internal, sebagian lagi karena tim-tim Inggris telah membuat kemajuan besar. BRM akhirnya tampil bagus dengan Graham Hill menjadi juara setelah pertarungan panjang selama semusim dengan Lotus 25 monocoque revolusioner yang dikemudikan oleh Jim Clark. Dan Gurney memberi Porsche satu-satunya kemenangan Grand Prix mereka di Rouen, dan Cooper memenangkan balapan terakhir mereka hingga 1966. Lola melakukan perampokan sporadis pertama mereka ke dalam balap Grand Prix, dan Jack Brabham muncul sebagai konstruktor, mencetak poin pertamanya di mobilnya sendiri. Ricardo Rodríguez dari Meksiko saat Grand Prix Meksiko non-kejuaraan di sirkuit Mixhuca, dan pembalap motor Rhodesian Gary Hocking saat Grand Prix Natal non-kejuaraan di Sirkuit Westmead, Afrika Selatan. Ferrari mengawali tahun ini dengan baik, dengan Phil Hill di posisi kedua setelah naik podium dalam tiga balapan pertama. Namun, perbedaan kepribadian, hilangnya sebagian besar tim teknik pada tahun 1961 "walk-out", pemogokan industri yang berkepanjangan, menyebabkan Enzo Ferrari menarik timnya dari dua balapan terakhir.
