Sakhalin (Rusia: Сахали́н, Jepang: 樺太 (karafuto) atau サハリン (saharin), Tionghoa: 庫頁) adalah sebuah pulau di sebelah utara Samudra Pasifik yang termasuk wilayah Rusia. Sakhalin sekaligus merupakan pulau terbesar di Rusia, dan berada di bawah administrasi Oblast Sakhalin. Bagian selatan pulau Sakhalin, Kepulauan Kuril, dan bagian utara pulau Honshu dulunya merupakan tempat asal Suku Ainu.

Manchuria menyebut pulau Sakhalin sebagai sahaliyan ula angga hada (puncak muara Sungai Amur). Dalam bahasa Manchuria, sahaliyan berarti warna hitam dan digunakan untuk menyebut Sungai Amur (sahaliyan ula). Jepang pernah menguasai bagian selatan pulau Sakhalin dari tahun 1905-1945. Suku Ainu menyebut Sakhalin sebagai Kamuy-Kara-Puto-Ya-Mosir (Kara Puto) atau "dewa tanah muara sungai".

Pulau ini memiliki luas wilayah 78.000 km² dengan memiliki jumlah penduduk 673.100 jiwa (2005) dan kepadatan penduduk 8,62 jiwa/km². Kota besar utamanya ialah Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Pada 28 Mei 1995, gempa berkekuatan 7,5 skala richter menewaskan 2.000 orang di kota Neftegorsk.
