Aliran Annales (pengucapan bahasa Prancis: [a'nal]) adalah kelompok sejarawan yang berasosiasi dengan gaya historiografi yang dikembangkan oleh sejarawan Prancis pada abad ke-20 untuk menekankan sejarah sosial jangka panjang. Aliran ini dinamakan menurut jurnal ilmiahnya Annales d'histoire économique et sociale, yang masih menjadi sumber utama kesarjanaan, bersama dengan banyak buku dan monografi.[1] Aliran ini sangat berpengaruh dalam menetapkan agenda historiografi di Prancis dan banyak negara lainnya, khususnya mengenai penggunaan metode ilmu sosial oleh sejarawan; menekankan pada tema sosial dibandingkan politik atau diplomatik; dan umumnya bersikap bermusuhan dengan analisis kelas historiografi Marxis.

Aliran ini terutama berhubungan dengan Eropa akhir abad pertengahan dan modern awal (sebelum Revolusi Prancis), dengan sedikit ketertarikan pada topik revolusi tersebut. Aliran ini telah mendominasi sejarah sosial Prancis dan mempengaruhi historiografi di Eropa dan Amerika Latin. Tokoh yang menonjol termasuk pendirinya, Lucien Febvre (1878–1956), Henri Hauser (1866-1946) dan Marc Bloch (1886–1944). Generasi kedua dipimpin oleh Fernand Braudel (1902–1985) dan termasuk Georges Duby (1919–1996), Pierre Goubert (1915–2012), Robert Mandrou (1921–1984), Pierre Chaunu (1923–2009), Jacques Le Goff (1924–2014), dan Ernest Labrousse (1895–1988). Secara institusional, aliran ini berbasis pada jurnal Annales, rumah percetakan SEVPEN, Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme (FMSH), dan khususnya Seksi ke-6 École pratique des hautes études, yang kesemuanya berbasis di Paris. Generasi ketiga dipimpin oleh Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie (1929– ) dan termasuk Jacques Revel,[2] dan Philippe Ariès (1914–1984), yang bergabung ke kelompok ini pada 1978. Generasi ketiga menekankan pada sejarah dari sudut pandang mentalitas, atau mentalités. Keluaran ilmiah utamanya adalah jurnal Annales d'Histoire Economique et Sociale ("Annals sejarah ekonomi dan sosial"), didirikan pada 1929 oleh Lucien Febvre dan Marc Bloch, yang memisahkan diri secara radikal dengan historiografi tradisional dengan menekankan pada pentingnya membawa semua lapisan masyarakat ke dalam pertimbangan dan menekankan sifat kolektif mentalitas. Kontributornya memandang peristiwa sebagai kurang mendasar dibandingkan kerangka metal yang membentuk keputusan dan perbuatan tersebut.
