Eugene Joseph "Gene" McCarthy (29 Maret 1916 – 10 Desember 2005) adalah seorang politikus, penyair, dan Anggota Kongres asal Minnesota, Amerika Serikat. Ia menjabat dalam Dewan Perwakilan AS dari 1949 sampai 1959 dan Senat AS dari 1959 sampai 1971.
Dalam pemilihan presiden 1968, McCarthy menjadi kandidat pertama yang melawan petahana Lyndon B. Johnson untuk nominasi Demokrat untuk presiden Amerika Serikat, maju atas wadah anti-Perang Vietnam.
