Robert Allan Caro (lahir 30 Oktober 1935) adalah wartawan dan penulis Amerika Serikat yang dikenal sebagai penulis biografi dua tokoh politik Amerika Serikat, Robert Moses dan Lyndon B. Johnson.
Setelah beberapa tahun bekerja sebagai wartawan, Caro menulis The Power Broker (1974), biografi tentang penata kota New York, Robert Moses.[3] Modern Library memasukkan buku ini dalam daftar seratus buku nonfiksi terbaik abad ke-20.[4] Ia kemudian menulis empat dari lima volume The Years of Lyndon Johnson (1982, 1990, 2002, 2012), biografi tentang mantan presiden AS.
Atas karya biografinya, ia dianugerahi dua Pulitzer Prize for Biography, dua National Book Award (termasuk satu penghargaan Lifetime Achievement), Francis Parkman Prize (dari Society of American Historians untuk buku yang "mencerminkan bersatunya seorang sejarawan dan seorang seniman"), tiga National Book Critics Circle Award, H.L.
