William "Bill" Paxton (17 Mei 1955 – 25 Februari 2017)[1][2] adalah seorang aktor dan sutradara asal Amerika Serikat. Film-film yang ia perankan di antaranya termasuk The Terminator (1984), Weird Science (1985), Aliens (1986), Predator 2 (1990), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), dan Titanic (1997). Paxton juga membintangi serial televisi HBO, Big Love (2006-2011) dan masuk nominasi Emmy Award karena bermain di miniseri Hatfields & McCoys (2012).

Paxton lahir dan dibesarkan di Fort Worth, Texas, ia merupakan putra dari Mary Lou (née Gray) dan John Lane Paxton. Ayahnya adalah seorang pengusaha, pedagang kayu grosir, pengelola museum, dan sesekali menjadi aktor.[3] Ibunya adalah seorang penganut Katolik Roma. Bill dan saudara-saudaranya dibesarkan menurut keimanan ibunya tersebut.[4] Paxton berada di kerumunan ketika Presiden John F. Kennedy muncul dari Hotel Texas pada pagi hari sesaat sebelum terjadinya pembunuhan pada 22 November 1963. Kehidupan pribadi[sunting | sunting sumber]

Paxton menikah pertama kali dengan Kelly Rowan. Rumah tangga mereka berlangsung dari tahun 1979 hingga cerai tahun 1980. Pada tahun 1987, ia menikah lagi dengan Louise Newbury, pernikahan mereka dikaruniai dua orang anak, James dan Lydia Paxton.[7]

Pada tanggal 25 Februari 2017, Paxton meninggal dunia pada usia 61 tahun karena stroke pasca bedah setelah ia melakukan operasi jantung.[8][9][10]
