Abby West dari Entertainment Weekly sebagian besar tidak antusias tentang As the Bell Rings, memberinya nilai "B−" dan menulis, "Bukan Saved by the Bell" dan menggambarkan seri pendek ini sebagai "tidak berbahaya, jika sering kali tidak lucu".^[3]
