Belle Époque

Belle Époque atau La Belle Époque (bahasa Prancis: [bɛlepɔk]; Bahasa Prancis untuk "Zaman Indah") merupakan sebuah istilah yang sering diberikan untuk periode Prancis dan Sejarah Eropa, biasanya dari antara 1880 dan pecahnya Perang Dunia I pada 1914. Masa ini terjadi selama era Republik Ketiga Prancis, yang merupakan periode yang ditandai oleh optimisme, perdamaian regional, ekonomi kemakmuran, ekspansi kolonial, dan inovasi teknologi, ilmiah, dan budaya. Pada masa budaya dan iklim seni Prancis ini (khususnya di Paris), karya seni berkembang pesat, dengan banyak karya sastra, musik, teater, dan seni rupa yang memenangkan pengakuan besar.

Penari dan penyanyi Belle Époque seperti Polaire, Mistinguett, Paulus, Eugénie Fougre, La Goulue, dan Jane Avril adalah selebritas Paris, dengan beberapa di antaranya menjadi model untuk seni poster ikonik Toulouse-Lautrec.
