Christopher Asher Wray (lahir 17 Desember 1966)[2] adalah seorang pengacara Amerika Serikat yang menjabat sebagai Direktur Biro Investigasi Federal (FBI) saat ini sejak tahun 2017.[3] Dari tahun 2003 hingga 2005, Wray menjabat sebagai Asisten Jaksa Agung yang membawahi Divisi Kriminal di masa pemerintahan George W. Bush. Dari tahun 2005 hingga 2016, ia adalah mitra litigasi dengan firma hukum King & Spalding.[4]
Kehidupan awal[sunting | sunting sumber]
Christopher A. Wray lahir di Kota New York.[5] Ayahnya, Cecil A. Wray Jr.,[6][7] adalah lulusan Sekolah Hukum Yale dan bekerja sebagai pengacara di Debevoise & Plimpton di New York.[8][9]
Christopher A. Wray menyelesaikan pendidikannya di Sekolah Buckley,[10] Kota New York dan sekolah asrama swasta Phillips Academy di Andover, Massachusetts.[6] Pada tahun 1989, Wray lulus dari Universitas Yale dan mendapatkan gelar Bachelor of Arts dengan predikat cum laude,[6] dan ia kemudian meraih gelar Juris Doctor pada tahun 1992 dari Sekolah Hukum Yale. Saat berada di Yale, Wray adalah Editor Eksekutif Yale Law Journal. Setelah lulus dari sekolah hukum, Wray menghabiskan waktu satu tahun sebagai panitera untuk Hakim J. Michael Luttig dari Pengadilan Banding Amerika Serikat untuk Sirkuit Keempat.[11]
