Ideologi Pentungan Besar, diplomasi Pentungan Besar, atau kebijakan Pentungan Besar mengacu pada kebijakan luar negeri Presiden Amerika Serikat Theodore Roosevelt: "bicaralah dengan lembut dan bawalah pentungan besar." Roosevelt menyebut gaya kebijakan luar negerinya sebagai "pelaksanaan pemikiran cerdas dan tindakan penting yang mendahului kemungkinan krisis apapun".

Ide perundingan damai sambil mengancam dengan "pentungan besar" atau militer sangat berkaitan dengan ide Realpolitik. Realpolitik adalah tindakan meraih kekuasaan politik yang mirip dengan pemikiran Machiavellianisme. Ideologi ini dapat disamakan dengan diplomasi senjata yang diterapkan negara-negara besar dalam politik internasional.
