Macrothelypteris torresiana adalah jenis tumbuhan paku anggota suku Thelypteridaceae yang tumbuh alami di Asia dan Afrika tropika dan subtropika. Karena kemampuan adaptasi yang tinggi, jenis ini sekarang juga dapat ditemukan tumbuh di benua Amerika.[1][2]
Taksonominya agak rumit, karena tergantung pada bagaimana pengelompokan dalam suku Thelypteridaceae. Dalam klasifikasi berdasarkan morfologi, namanya adalah Thelypteris torresiana. Namun, hasil kajian molekular menunjukkan bahwa jenis ini mengelompok dengan segolongan jenis yang masuk dalam kompleks Macrothelypteris-Phegopteris dan terpisah dari Thelypteris arti sempit,[3] sehingga sekarang mulai banyak yang menamakannya Macrothelypteris torresiana.
Kajian fitokimia Macrothelypteris torresiana memperlihatkan kandungan beberapa flavonoid yang dianggap berpotensi pengobatan.[4]
