[sunting sumber]Bisakah dan/atau perlukah judul artikel ini diganti menjadi "KIMIA HAYATI"? Alasannya, seperti yang saya tuliskan pada facebook saya:
MAU BERTANYA! Kenapa KIMIA ANALITIK, KIMIA FISIKA, KIMIA ORGANIK, tetapi BIOKIMIA dan bukan KIMIA HAYATI?
Kenapa SEKOLAH ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI HAYATI (bukan SEKOLAH BIOLOGI DAN BIOTEKNOLOGI) tetapi BIOKIMIA dan bukan KIMIA HAYATI? Dennis Kwaria has spoken (bicara) 16:37, 19 Maret 2011 (UTC)
- Bahasa adalah sesuatu yang dinamis sesuai dengan penggunaan dalam masyarakat, terutama kalangan yang aktif menggunakannya. Biokimia telah menjadi istilah yang berterima di kalangan akademisi. Silakan bandingkan penggunaan "biokimia" dan "kimia hayati" dalam nama mata kuliah atau jurusan di Indonesia. -- IvanLanin ♫ 15:31, 19 Maret 2011 (UTC)
Di tempat saya kuliah, memang di jurusan saya (kimia) dikenal istilah Biokimia, tetapi justru di fakyultas yang mendalami khusus biologi, nama Fakultas (disebut 'sekolah' di kampus saya) tersebut adalah "Sekolah Ilmu dan Teknologi Hayati" . Sehingga --menurut saya-- terjadi penggunaan bahasa yang tidak konsisten. Tetapi akan saya diskusikan dengan akademisi-akademisi (dosen) saya.
