Robert Swain Gifford (23 Desember 1840 – 15 Januari 1905) adalah pelukis lanskap asal Amerika. Dia dipengaruhi oleh sekolah Barbizon.

Biografi

Gifford lahir di Nonamesset Island, di Elizabeth Islands,^[1] Ketika dia berusia 2 tahun dia pindah bersama keluarganya ke daerah New Bedford, dan dia bersekolah di sekolah umum di New Bedford.^[2]^[3] Ketika Gifford masih remaja, pelukis Belanda Albertus Van Beest tiba di New Bedford, dan keduanya berkolaborasi dalam lukisan kapal.^[4]
