Kajian seni pahat Romawi ditimbulkan oleh hubungannya dengan seni pahat Yunani. Beberapa contoh dari seni pahat Yunani terkenal, seperti Apollo Belvedere dan Barberini Faun, hanya dikenal dari "salinan-salinan" Kekaisaran Romawi atau Helenistik.
