Umi zatō (Jepang: 海座頭 ) adalah yokai raksasa dalam cerita rakyat Jepang yang digambarkan mengembara di wilayah perairan Jepang. Yokai ini memiliki wujud berupa pria raksasa buta dengan memegang tongkat di tangan kanannya dan sedang menggendong biwa (kecapi tradisional Jepang).[1]
Umi zatō secara harfiah berarti biksu laut yang buta. Penamaannya kemungkinan diambil dari istilah Biwa Hōshi (biksu kecapi) atau Zatō (biksu buta).[2] Tidak banyak sumber catatan sejarah yang menuliskan mengenai Umi zatō. Menurut legenda, Umi zatō tertarik dengan kapal atau perahu yang sedang berlayar di tengah laut.[1]
Umi zatō sering dikaitkan dengan penampakan mamalia laut raksasa, seperti lumba-lumba, anjing laut atau walrus. Dalam bahasa Jepang, paus bungkuk ditulis sebagai zatō kujira, yang mana punuk paus tersebut dapat menjadi referensi visual untuk penggambaran biwa yang dibawa biksu di punggungnya.[3]
